About
Hi, I’m Furkan.
I am an engineer who is interested in software, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and electronics. I have participated in various projects in these fields to improve myself, and I am always eager to learn new technologies.
My story began in İzmir. After owning a computer at a childhood, my interest in technology grew. Initially, I was only playing games, but over time I started asking, “How do computers work?”. This got me curious about the world of software and hardware.
When I was study middle school, I started using the computer not only for entertainment but also for research and creation. Around that time, I became interested in web design and server management. Throughout high school, I gained experience by taking part in part-time and freelance projects.
Besides software, I also became interested in electronics and robotics. So, I decided to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I worked as a assistant in programming classes and helped my classmates with software and algorithms at university. I focused on projects that combined software and hardware, I worked on robotics, circuit design, and electric vehicles.
In the summer of my first year, I did an internship in the automotive sector and gained experience with electric vehicles. In my final year, I completed a graduation project about “Elektrikli araçlar için kullanılan şarj istasyonunda 5 kW / 350 V DC LLC dönüştürücü tasarımı, üretimi ve sert anahtarlama-yumuşak anahtarlama kıyaslanması“. This project was supported under TÜBİTAK 2209-B, a program for supporting university students’ industry-oriented research projects.
After graduating, I moved to Ankara to work in the defense industry and joined the Laser Warning System team under the R&D Directorate of a defense company. In the project, analog signals detected by multi-band optical sensors were filtered through both hardware and software to eliminate noise and identify only threatening laser signals. The data from the sensors were transmitted to the main controller via RS485, direction detection was performed, and the results were displayed on an in-vehicle screen through a Qt-based controler unit over CANBUS. The system, providing 360° coverage, was successfully tested in the field and delivered to the customer.
After this successful product development process, I decided that living conditions in Ankara were not ideal for me, so I relocated to Istanbul and decided to continue my career in infrastructure and systems engineering.
After moving to Istanbul, I began working at a consulting firm. I provided services in infrastructure, middleware, and DevOps to many telecommunications, insurance, and finance companies in Turkiye and Europe, using the “Everything as Code” approach. By utilizing infrastructure management tools such as Ansible and Terraform, I contributed to organizations’ digital transformation processes.
Now, I am currently actively working as a DevOps Engineer at e-commerce.
